Bob Marley’s 70th birthday celebrations gather pace with extensive vinyl reissue campaign.

The reggae legend’s complete Island Records discography will be reissued on vinyl as part of an extensive new box set due on September 25.

The collection includes all the records that brought reggae onto the world stage, including Bob Marley & The Wailers’ studio albums – Catch A Fire, Burnin’, Natty Dread, Rastaman Vibration, Exodus, Kaya, Survival, Uprising and Confrontation – plus two live albums, Bablyon By Bus and Live!.

The standard box set is modelled on a Zippo lighter, which should appeal to the stoner contingent, while a deluxe version will come in a velvet-lined metal box containing all 11 LPs, a 70th anniversary slip mat and two photos in glassine envelopes. Both will be released on Island Records on September 25.
