The Blue Bomber is coming to a theater near you just in time for his 30th anniversary

In something that many video game fans have dreamed of for close to three decades, 20th Century Fox have announced they are developing a feature film based on the Megaman franchise, as Polygon reports.

The film will be co-produced by Chernin Entertainment, the company of Crunchyroll-owner Peter Chernin. Chernin, along with co-producers David Ready and Michael Finfer, all were involved in the successful and critically acclaimed new Planet Of The Apes series. Whether the film will be live-action or animated is unclear, but look for more updates as time progresses.

Aside from starring one of the most beloved video game characters of all time, the Megaman series is also acclaimed for its music. Check out our recent feature The 100 Greatest Video Game Soundtracks Of All Time and you’ll find him throughout, including the Top 5.
