It’s the artist’s first solo album in five years.

Australian experimental producer Robin Fox will return to Editions Mego next month with an album of music created to soundtrack a dance piece developed with choreographer Stephanie Lake.

As the label explains, A Small Prometheus explores “themes of combustion and heat dissipating in various physical systems,” using a synthesis of electronic and acoustic sources.

The record is Fox’s first solo album since 2010’s A Handful Of Automation, though he’s been busy in that time with a host of collaborative projects, including Double Vision, an audiovisual show co-created with Atom™.

The album is released on October 30, and arrives on a six-track vinyl LP and a digital version with two bonus tracks. It’s joined on the label by an album from Surgeon two weeks later, recorded in the Hawaiian jungle.

You can hear album track ‘3 Phase’ below, and watch Robin Fox and Atom™ discuss Double Vision on FACT TV.
