The Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions tour is coming to the capital in December.

If you’ve ever harboured the desire to hear the 8-bit music of the early Pokémon games transformed into a polyphonic marvel by a full orchestra, you’re in luck – the Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions tour is travelling the world, with its UK premiere set to happen on December 20 at the Hammersmith Apollo.

The show will see the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra perform music from the classic Pokémon Red and Blue games all the way up to the recent Pokémon X and Y titles together with “large-screen video projections to bring to life newly expanded musical themes and visual material directly inspired by the game.”

It’s worth noting that the event is being billed as a family concert to introduce children to classical music, so be prepared for some funny looks if you’re not accompanying a younger family member. If you want to get tickets, you can grab them here, where you can also check dates for the rest of the globe. [via Complex]
