Two doyens of deep house are launching a new label with some of the best talent in the game.

Larry Heard and Gene Hunt will kickstart the Afro-futuristically titled Descendants of the Deep with a pair of 12″s titled From Chicago To Detroit, collecting nine tracks in total from the likes of Vincent Floyd and Africans With Mainframes, the duo of Noleian Reusse and the ever-prolific Hieroglyphic Being.

The label bosses also turn up on the second release, with Gene Hunt’s ‘Native’ given a Jordan Fields re-edit and Larry Heard offering a dub remix of Fields’ own ‘Lifted My Soul’.

From Chicago to Detroit V1 and From Chicago to Detroit V2 are due soon on Descendants Of The Deep. In the meantime, a return to Hieroglyphic Being’s FACT mix could be in order. [via RA]
