Bobby Shmurda’s bail application has been rejected yet again.

The Brooklyn rapper has been in jail since December of last year following his arrest on weapons, drugs and conspiracy charges; to which he pled not guilty. The 21-year-old signed to Epic Records last year but the label has so far refused to pay his $2 million bail.

In June, October 5 was set as the trial date for Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel and 13 other alleged members of the GS9 Gang. Page Six reports that on Monday, Manhattan court Judge James Burke set a new trial date of February 22, 2016.

Shmurda has also hired his third attorney since being arrested late last year. New representative Alex Spiro, of the law firm Brafman & Associates, objected to the new date and requested his client be released pending the trial.

Special Narcotics Prosecutor Nigel Farinha argued that there had already been at least four bail applications that had been rejected and that the case against GS9 had only grown stronger. Farinha cited Shmurda’s ties to Florida and net worth of half a million dollars as reasons for rejecting the application. [via Page Six]
