Popular DJ platform Serato moves into the streaming world.

Serato have announced that their newest version of Serato DJ, 1.9 for anyone counting, will have full integration with the streaming service Pulselocker. They have yet to roll out version 1.8, but at least 1.9 will come with a two-week free trial.

The announcement came today at Amsterdam Dance Event, and Serato’s CEO AJ Bertenshaw said: “At Serato, we always try to carefully choose each feature to be aimed at the professional DJ. When it came to connecting to a subscription music service, we wanted to make sure our offering was the very best available.”

Launched back in 2012, Pulselocker has a wide selection of over 44 million tracks from about 500,000 labels so you should have plenty to choose from, and you’ll be able to access each track from within Serato. You can stream the tracks online, or make the tracks available for offline use, but Serato’s internal recorder will be disabled while Pulselocker is running for the obvious licensing reasons.
