The improvised jam captures the first band practice of their new album sessions.

This summer we got word that Animal Collective were recording their new album in the iconic Pet Sounds studio at EastWest in Los Angeles. Now they’ve shared the improvised jam from their first band practice earlier this year at Drop Of Sun Studios in Asheville, NC.

The 23-minute jam is title ‘Michael, Remember’ and soundtracks a video of underwater footage filmed in 2014 at the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary in the Gulf Of Mexico. The footage was shot by Colin Foord with additional camera work by AC-members Deakin and Geologist. Watch it below and expect a lot more activity from Animal Collective soon.
