Return of the original rapform.

Following on from last year’s Perfect Hair, Los Angeles rap veteran Busdriver has just self-released Thumbs, his ninth album.

Available on Bandcamp, Thumbs is a continuation of sorts from the previous album, specifically picking up on themes of “homogenous citizenry” and further celebrating the sound of the L.A underground that Busdriver has been a part of since the late 1990s.

The album, out on Busdriver’s own Temporary Whatever label, features productions from Mono/Poly, Fumitake Tamura, Kenny Segal, Caural, and Jeremiah Jae alongside additional raps and vocals from milo, Anderson Paak, Zeroh, and Del Tha Funky Homosapien among others.

Mastering comes courtesy of another L.A. staple, Daddy Kev. It is “the most action-packed Busdriver release to date.”

Up next, Busdriver is set to release a 7″ and book via the Honor Press label, run by Perfect Pussy’s Meredith Graves.
