Generations of artists came together for a special show.

On Friday night, A&E TV aired Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America which saw Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Miguel, Jill Scott, Big Sean, and more perform in various settings to raise money for the Fund for Progress on Race in America.

The main show took place in Los Angeles alongside interviews and smaller performances at various sites across America synonymous with recent racial violence and tension, including Baltimore, Ferguson, and Charleston.

The special can be watched in full on the A&E website (U.S. viewers only).

A playlist of extracts from the show is available on YouTube and below are a handful including Pharrell Williams performing ‘Freedom’ in a Charleston church, Jill Scott performing ‘Strange Fruit’, and Nicki Minaj reciting her version of Maya Angelou’s powerful ‘Still I Rise’ poem. [Via Pitchfork]
