Brooklyn experimental stalwart Eric Copeland is scoring a horror movie.

In what seems like an inspired bit of commissioning, the Black Dice musician will create the soundtrack for Antibirth, a horror thriller starring Natasha Lyonne, Chloë Sevigny, Mark Webber, Meg Tilly and Maxwell McCabe-Lokos.

Antibirth is the debut feature by writer and director Danny Perez, who has previously created visuals for Black Dice and Animal Collective (including the Baltimore band’s deeply weird, fully brilliant Oddsac film in 2010).

Here’s the synopsis from IMDb: “In a desolate community full of drug-addled Marines and rumors of kidnapping, a wild-eyed stoner named Lou wakes up after a wild night of partying with symptoms of a strange illness and recurring visions as she struggles to get a grip on reality while stories of conspiracy spread.”

Antibirth is set to premiere in January 2016 at the Sundance Film Festival. [via FilmMusicReporter]
