Canadian house and techno producer unveils a new moniker.

Kevin McPhee will launch his new Ian Oakley alias with a four-track EP for Wake Up! Records next month. The Rise And Fall EP collects three originals plus a remix of the title track from Wake Up! boss Benjamin Brunn.

The Toronto-born musician first came to attention around 2011 with a series of dusty, UK-influenced house 12″s for labels like Idle Hands, [nakedlunch] and Ramp offshoot Brainmath. After a quiet 2014, McPhee’s release schedule has picked up a little this year. He’s released a collaboration with Gerry Read for another Ramp sublabel, Fourth Wave, and delivered an EP for WNCL in September.

McPhee will round out the year with the release of his new EP as Ian Oakley, which you can preview below. [via RA]
