Update: According to a Facebook post by Chunky, a member of Levelz, the crew “spent the early hour of this morning in a police station being questioned about this Elastic situation…We where [sic] split up and questioned about the series of videos we made to put focus on a massive injustice that most people wouldn’t batted a lid about. When I asked who had dobbed us in the [sic] wouldn’t say, and when I asked wot about the actual crime we are the victims of they again refused the comment.”

Update 2: Looks like Elastic still doesn’t have control of its Facebook page:

The outlook remains bleak for the booking agency.

Police have launched an investigation into a mock ransom video posted by Manchester collective Levelz that showed the “kidnapping” of an Elastic Artists employee.

The booking agency’s director, Jon Slade, confirmed to RA that police were looking into the video, which was part of a social media attack launched against Elastic Artists by Levelz crew member Rich Reason, a former employee of Elastic.

The company appears to be on the verge of administration, as revealed by several artists on the agency’s books who say they are owed money and unable to contact the accounts team.

As RA reports, figures from the Companies House website show that Elastic’s financial situation is bleak. The company had debts of £147,000 and made a loss of £7,000 in the financial year ending May 2014. Up to 24 staff could lose their jobs in the event of the company’s collapse.

Elastic Artists has not yet issued a formal statement.
