RZA: “Martin Shkreli can do what he wants with Wu-Tang Clan album”
“I could never discriminate against anyone who appreciates art,” says the Wu-Tang boss.
CEO Martin Shkreli reached untold levels of infamy after his company hiked the price of a vital drug by 5,000%, but he pushed it further after spending $2 million on Wu-Tang Clan’s coveted one-of-a-kind album Once Upon A Time in Shaolin.
In the wake of the executive’s arrest by the FBI on fraud charges, RZA has spoken about the sale in an interview on TV show With All Due Respect.
“He bought it, he can do what he wants,” RZA told host John Heilemann. “At this age in my life, I could never, never discriminate against anyone who appreciates art.
“If he wants to be philanthropic he can do something that allows more people to hear the record.”
The full interview airs tonight on Bloomberg TV, and you can watch the preview here.
