The run up to the band’s next album heats up.

Radiohead are confirmed to be playing two headline festival slots in 2016 with more to follow, reports Consequence of Sound.

According to a source “familiar with Radiohead’s plans”, the band are expected to headline several festivals across the world this summer.

The first dates to be confirmed are at Primavera Sound in Barcelona across June 2-4, and Swiss festival OpenAir St. Gallen, which takes place from June 30 – July  3. North American dates are expected to follow in July.

It makes the rumours of a new album from Radiohead in 2016 seem all the more likely – earlier this month the band launched a company, something also done in advance of 2011’s King of Limbs.
