Richie Hawtin is at the controls for the first edition of Radio 1’s Essential Mix live series.

In January the techno figurehead smashed out one of his live, improvised sets from the main room of Exchange LA, and now the two-hour mix has appeared online following its airing on Radio 1 on January 30.

Stream it on iPlayer or MixesDB and look out for the rest of the Essential Mix live series this year.

The Plus 8 co-founder recently dropped a surprise compilation of tracks made under a variety of aliases, including ROBOTMAN, FUSE, Circuit Breaker and Plastikman, and he’s just announced a collaboration with Allen & Heath to develop new musical hardware.
