It’s all about Kanye right now.

But after debuting his deliriously anticipated new album, The Life Of Pablo, at West’s Yeezy Season 3 event in Madison Square Garden last night (watch the whole thing here), one of the album’s lyrics has left a bit of a stink.

On ‘Famous’, Kanye delivers the line: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ I made that bitch famous,” but contrary to what was previously reported by TMZ, Taylor Swift (whom the track references) did not in fact give approval for the song’s release.

According to Swift’s spokesperson: “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”

Here’s the full statement, posted on New York Times pop critic Jon Caramanica’s Instagram account:

Swift’s brother Austin reacted with this Instagram video of him throwing a pair of (what appear to be) Yeezy trainers in a bin. “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning,” he wrote. “Here we go again.”
