Juan Atkins is coming to SE15.

The techno pioneer has just been added to the inaugural Peckham Rye Music Festival, which takes place May 13-15 in some of the area’s favourite spaces.

Also among the shiny new additions to the two-day event are New Jersey’s DJ QU, who will play a daytime set at Peckham Springs, with long-time friend and collaborator October in tow.

They join the list of UK artists already announced: Benji BWbeeza, Mickey Pearce, Leif, Bass Clef and West Norwood Cassette Library, as well as German producers Kassem Mosse and Mix Mup, who will perform as MM/KM. There will also be workshops and seminars hosted by the CDR crew.

9 venues have been confirmed so far, including Bussey Building, CLF Art Café, Rye Wax and Canavan’s Peckham Pool Club, and more.

The press release reads: “The Peckham Rye Music Festival is run by a group of friends and is using independent venues across Peckham. Its aims are to be more community focused than festivals run by corporate groups of companies.”

Tickets are available from the festival website.
