Bill Gates launches DJ career, responds to Beyoncé shout-out
This is the real PC Music.
Bill Gates launched his DJ career on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night, getting behind the decks to plug the new Gates Letter, an annual missive from his charity foundation.
After telling Fallon that he “would do anything” to promote the letter, Gates unveiled a completely ridiculous video of him pratting about on the decks (with vinyl, mind!), backflipping and doing the splits. Watch the video below.
The Microsoft billionaire has also responded to being name-checked by Beyoncé in her new single ‘Formation’ (“I just might be a black Bill Gates in the making”).
He told Wired: “I hadn’t realized that she did that until somebody in the office actually sent me a copy of the lyrics and I said, ‘Are you serious? This is kind of a strange set of words here.’ I’m surprised.”
“I guess it’s nice that people consider me successful,” said the richest man in the world.
The best bit about the Beyoncé and Bill story, though, is the unearthing of an incredible clip (below) of the Microsoft boss recording his own version of ‘Big Pimpin” in front of a perplexed Jay Z. Bill Gates: WHAT A GUY.
