The Italian composer, who won an Oscar last night for his score for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, will headline the opening night of this summer’s Nocturne concert series at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, on June 23.

The Hollywood composer’s huge repertoire includes the scores for Cinema Paradiso, The Mission and Sergio Leone’s classic westerns The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West.

“The experience will be different this time,” says Morricone of the Nocturne performance. “I plan to include music from my collaboration with Quentin Tarantino as well as a few works from the Leone westerns that I have not included on previous tours.”

Tickets go on general sale on Thursday, March 3, at 9am from Nocturne Live.

After the success of The Hateful Eight, which also won the veteran composer a Golden Globe and a BAFTA, Morricone has revealed he will reunite with Tarantino for the director’s next movie.
