No patience for “bitchassness.”

The Roots, along with fellow performers Kimbra and Bilal, have pulled out of the David Bowie tribute concerts taking place tonight (March 31) and Friday (April 1) at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall respectively.

In an Instagram post last night, drummer Questlove declared: “We have patience. But we do not have patience for the #Bitchassness.”

He went on to reveal how an issue with equipment was the reason behind their cancellation: “I’ve never been so insecure or petty as to deny a fellow musician any of my equipment (or my band’s equipment- or resources or contacts or knowledge or anything). It angers me when that same courtesy is not reciprocated… Enjoy your precious equipment.”

The Music of David Bowie will feature an enormous lineup including Michael Stipe, Pixies, Blondie, The Flaming Lips, Cat Power,  Anna Calvi and the Kronos Quartet, as well as the Donny McCaslin Group who worked on Bowie’s Blackstar and includes longtime producer Tony Visconti.

You can stream tomorrow night’s show on the concert’s website.
