Atlanta’s Lil Yachty is a polarizing force in rap right now. He’s popular to the point of being ubiquitous, but the young rapper’s fusion of Makonnen and Lil B’s free associating slurs and Future’s Auto-Tuned croon has old schoolers weeping all over their AF1s.

FACT caught up with Yachty at this year’s SXSW to talk about his rapid rise to fame and his obsession with Call of Duty, which he plays online with fans.
