The new app from Novation now works wirelessly with other software.

Blocs Wave, the music creation app from new Novation team Blocs, has updated to version 2.0, adding support for Ableton’s Link technology.

Released last month, the app allows you to quickly construct music out of multiple loops and tweak them using the touch interface. As well as including several pre-recorded loops, the app enables you to upload and record your own sounds.

The first major update to the app adds support for Link, Ableton’s new technology that allows software such as Live and iOS apps to connect seamlessly over a wireless network. The improvement means that Blocs Wave can now work with apps like iMPC Pro and Modstep as well as other copies of itself.

The update is free to all owners of Blocs Wave, which is available now from the App Store for £3.99/$4.99. The update comes shortly after Novation’s Circuit groovebox received some improvements of its own, a suite of tools for customisation and expanding the portable, all-in-one hardware.
