Damiano Von Erckert has made a name for himself as one of Cologne’s funkiest operators in recent years (perhaps not a highly contested station) with his soulful, dusty house productions and ripping DJ sets, including a very sweaty Boiler Room session in October.

Last year he announced plans for a new label, DVE Records, in addition to his other imprint ava., which has released most of his music so far. With three EPs planned for the rest of the year, the label kicks off with von Erckert’s own ‘California’, a frisky house shuffle bathed in melting synth melodies, which is backed with a sun-drenched electro remix by none other than LA legend Egyptian Lover.

On the flip is a previously released cut of sumptous, string-laden house (with a sample from former Black Panther Jamal Joseph) by von Erckert and Am Kinem. Check out clips of all the tracks below, and grab the EP in mid-June.

The next 12″s, due in August and October, will include remixes from Mall Grab and Ron Trent.

Tracklist:

A ‘California’
B ‘California’ (The Egyptian Lover Remix)
BB ‘Symphony Of A Brother’ (with Am Kinem)
