Through a compilation of every Wailers opening drum line, you can hear how the genre has changed over time.

The Wailers’ Carlton Barrett was a pivotal percussionist in his time and his work with Bob Marley, Lee “Scratch” Perry and others dictated the way drumming evolved in reggae and other genres.

To demonstrate their Vulf Compressor, California audio studio Goodhertz used the plugin to seamlessly weave together Barrett’s work with the Wailers, tracing it from its dub origins into his full-on innovation.
