The performance is available to the public for the first time ever.

In 2014, Prince invited Kendrick Lamar to join him on stage during a concert at Paisley Park and today the footage of the performance has been released to the public.

The two performed the relatively unknown Crystal Ball track ‘What’s My Name’, but make it sound essential thanks to the electricity of Prince, his band and Lamar, who delivers an original verse.

The footage was posted by The Prince Museum on Facebook in partnership with Yahoo and Prince’s Paisley Parks. Though many are concerned about Prince’s estate (and his vault of unreleased material) since he left no will, releases like this are sure to please fans.

Prince had been vocal about his admiration for Lamar saying “he just has something he has to say. It’s pure” in a rare interview last year. Earlier this year, Lamar revealed that the two almost collaborated on his album To Pimp A Butterfly, but talked so much in the studio they ran out of time.

Watch the performance in full below and revisit the many artist tributes for the late icon.
