Braga’s experimental festival reveals the first names for 2016.

Portugal’s Semibreve Festival has announced the first names for this year’s edition, taking place in Braga this October.

As well as Modern Love’s Andy Stott, who just released his fourth album Too Many Voices, Subtext artist Paul Jebanasam will perform a new piece called ‘Continuum’ with visuals from Tarik Barri.

L.I.E.S. boss Ron Morelli will also appear twice at the festival, playing both a DJ set and playing his brand new live show, which the festival says is a beatless, immersive performance “with a punk attitude and tense edge.”

The rest of the line-up is yet to be announced, but last year’s festival featured the cream of the avant-garde electronics crop, including Powell, Tim Hecker, Dopplereffekt and Peder Mannerfelt.

This year’s event takes place from October 28-30 in venues across Braga including Theatro Circo, restored 18th century building Casa Rolão and contemporary venue GNRation.

Tickets and full information can be found at the Semibreve website. Early bird tickets costing €25 are available until the end of June.
