Festivals “in total disagreement” with the frontman’s behavior cancel the band’s performances.

Eagles Of Death Metal have been dropped by French music festivals Cabaret Vert & Rock en Seine in response to controversial interview with frontman Jesse Hughes regarding the Paris terror attacks on the Bataclan last November.

“It’s okay to be discerning when it comes to Muslims in this day and age,” Hughes said in an interview last week with the magazine Taki while describing “Muslims celebrating in the streets during the attack”.

It was these and previous comments accusing the Bataclan of being in on the attack that inspired Rock en Seine to drop the band, they say in a short statement on their Facebook page.

“Being in total disagreement with Jesse Hughes’ recent allegations given in an itw with an american media, both Cabaret Vert & Rock en Seine festivals have decided to cancel the band’s performance. We thank you for your understanding,” they write.

Last month, Hughes apologized for his previous comments about a conspiracy at the Bataclan saying “I haven’t been myself since November 13”.
