Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment is Chance The Rapper’s live band and last year they debuted with Surf, an album released for free via iTunes that garnered critical acclaim even as everyone awaited another Chance album/mixtape.
On the one year anniversary of the album’s release, Donnie Trumpet have posted a ten-minute mix of unreleased music from the album’s sessions.
Titled ‘The First Time’, it is “an ode to an era” according to the SoundCloud description and features Chance The Rapper, Ady Suleiman, J.P. Floyd, Dustin Green, and Cam Obi over production from Nico Segal and Nate Fox.
In Chance related news, a video of the rapper at 17 has resurfaced again showing him rap his way through the track ‘Nostalgia’ from his 10 Day mixtape at a local YOUMedia event in Chicago.
