Because who doesn’t need more Bart Simpson in their chillwave?

If you’re not already a die-hard Simpsonwave fan, then shame on you: we’ve been fully-fledged converts to this strange church for at least 20 minutes now. For the uninitiated, the premise behind this hybrid of kings is pretty simple. You track down a woozily psychedelic song on the vaporwave/chillwave spectrum and re-edit it with clips from The Simpsons and voila – you’ve got your hands on the trippiest new music genre around.

According to Know Your Meme, Simpsonwave (although it clearly should actually have been called ‘Simpsonswave’ – trips off the tongue much easier) started in October last year, when a Vine user posted a clip from an old episode of the cartoon remixed with HOME’s track ‘Resonance’. The craze then spread to YouTube, with hordes of other people uploading their own remixes, and seems a sure bet to take over the internet altogether. The craze then spread to YouTube, with hordes of other people uploading their own remixes.
