The Aussie grime don switches things up on his latest single.

Adelaide producer Strict Face has teamed up with Atlanta R&B artist K-Major for a new single called ‘Murderer’.

Released through Nina Las Vegas’s fledgling NLV Records, the single is the first time the Adelaide native has worked with a vocalist, and follows his ‘Rouge Park’ track from a label sampler released last year.

He’s best known for grime instrumentals on Mr Mitch’s Gobstopper Records and Mumdance & Logos’s Different Circles label, but there’s a real ‘The Boy is Mine’ vibe to this one.

“‘Murderer’ came together quite quickly after having the rough skeleton of the instrumental sitting on my hard drive for about a year,” the producer explains over email. “The rest of the tune happened pretty naturally: I whipped it up after getting over a creative block and sent Nina a list of singers I wanted to work with.”

The producer ended up deciding on K-Major, an Atlanta singer responsible for one of FACT’s most slept-on mixtapes of 2015. “It’s probably the first time I’ve been really happy with the result of working with a vocalist after struggling with the process for ages,” he says.

‘Murderer’ will be followed by a full Strict Face EP to be released on NLV Records soon. Buy the single here and check out the lead track from Nina Las Vegas’s recent EZY or NEVER EP.
