The trio worked with Rostam Batmanglij and Ariel Rechtshaid on their sophomore LP.

Haim are approaching the three-year anniversary of their breakthrough debut Days Are Gone this September and according to a new interview they hope to have its follow-up out shortly after.

The three sisters discussed the release with Rolling Stone today, detailing the process behind the “more organic” new album and revealing a few song titles.

The album was written in their parents’ L.A. home before shifting to the studio of Ariel Rechtshaid (who in addition to working on Days Are Gone has collaborated with Carly Rae Jepsen and Ariel Pink). There, they recorded over 12 songs including ‘Nothing’s Wrong’ and ‘Little of Your Love’, the latter of which began as a song they were hired to write for an unmentioned film.

The band have also enlisted Rostam Batmanglij who, in addition to working with Jepsen and Rechtshaid, was best known as a founding member of Vampire Weekend before parting ways earlier this year to focus on solo work and producing.

The band explain much of the new album is inspired by the feeling of “trying to go back to your normal life, but realizing there is a difference.”

The band are still recording, but if all goes well we should expect it this autumn.
