The rapper’s next album is imminent.

Recently, we learned Danny Brown had finished recording his long awaited new album and now the rapper himself has announced he’s putting the final touches on the final product.

“Putting the final touches on my next masterpiece, #Bruisers get ready,” he wrote in an Instagram post alongside Derek “MixedByAli” Ali, the Top Dawg Entertainment engineer who Kendrick Lamar name drops during Untitled. Unmastered.

We learned more about Brown’s album from Fool’s Gold boss Nick Catchdubs in our recent interview.

“Like everything he’s done in life, Danny’s gone a different route. He’s gone in a direction that suits him. I think that when he feels like it’s time to unleash this shit, people are gonna be excited,” he said.

Still, the direction Brown will go in with his new album remains tantalizingly unclear at this point. The rapper has popped up as a guest on other artists’ projects in the time since Old (including the very recent return of The Avalanches), but has remained fairly quiet over the last few years. Still there are a lot of straws to grasp onto.

Last year, he made the theme song to a network sitcom and collaborated with footwork gods DJ Spinn and the late DJ Rashad . Earlier this year, he released a demo rapping over the glassy title track from Actress’ R.I.P and revealed his favorite albums of 2015 were Sufjan Stevens’ Carrie & Lowell and Natalie Prass’ self-titled debut.

Those all leave the range of this “next masterpiece” wide open and we couldn’t be more excited. Revisit one of Brown’s classics below.
