It rained, it rained, then it rained some more. But that didn’t stop London’s Field Day festival from being every bit the extravaganza it always is. PJ Harvey brought her views from the Hope Six. Air wound back the years with a career-spanning reminder of their synthy supremacy. James Blake was imperious, Kelela was on fire, while the FACT Stage – featuring Avalon Emerson,  Jackmaster and Gerd Janson, The Black Madonna, Motor City Drum Ensemble and KiNK – well and truly kicked off.
