The NYC mainstay to go out with a bang.

Other Music may have been a New York institution, but it’s taking cues from New Orleans to celebrate its final days. The record shop will close its doors this Saturday, June 25 for retail purposes and will host its final show on Tuesday, June 28 among the packed boxes before kicking off a parade that will end at venue Bowery Ballroom. According to Brooklyn Vegan, it will be led by jazz musician Mantana Roberts while instrumental duo 75 Dollar Bill (who are performing at the in-store) will play the second line.

There, a show billed as Other Music Forever featuring Yo La Tengo, Juliana Barwick, among others, and hosted by Janeane Garofalo will end the store’s brick and mortar legacy. (More information on the sold out show here.)
