Stephen O’Malley, Livity Sound, Xosar and Powell are among the artists billed for the event in September.

Red Bull Music Academy has announced its first festival in Paris, which will feature six days of concerts, DJ sets, lectures and exhibitions from September 19-24.

Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore and Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley head the line-up with a collaborative performance on September 20, which features support from Diagonal boss Powell and French noise act Sister Iodine.

September 22 sees a huge selection of artists descend on Pigalle, with Mykki Blanco, Matias Aguayo, Janus and Tri Angle artist Lotic, Toxe, Bala Club’s Uli K and local label Clek Clek Boom’s Manaré playing. Jarvis Cocker will also play a DJ set with records played the turntables on display at Pigalle’s Phono Museum.

On September 23 Kowton, Peverelist and Tessela will all play a back-to-back set at La Trabendo, which also features sets by Xosar, Palms Trax, Paranoid London, NS Dos and Dasha Rush.

The six-day event concludes on September 24 when Optimo play Le Badaboum with Débruit, Insanlar, Mawimbi and Turkish selector Barış K. Full details and tickets can be found at the RBMA website.

The festival sees Red Bull Music Academy return to Paris after last year’s terrorist attacks of November 19 cut the first term short. The second term was postponed, with participants heading to this year’s Montreal academy instead.
