The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple is in talks to acquire Tidal. “The talks are still ongoing and may not result in a deal,” a source “familiar with the matter” tells the paper, which also writes: “Apple is exploring the idea of bringing on Tidal to bolster its Apple Music service because of Tidal’s strong ties to popular artists.”
Tidal has exclusives streaming rights to things like Beyoncé’s Lemonade, Prince’s catalogue and Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ video, whereas Apple Music works with Taylor Swift and Drake.
