An exciting, multi-disciplinary run of shows from the DJ and composer.

Jeff Mills will hold a four-date residency at London’s Barbican in June 2017 called From Here To There.

The Detroit techno legend will perform four shows across five days, kicking off on June 8 with a performance called Life To Death And Back. Based on a film he made in 2014 in collaboration with Le Louvre, the project explores the ancient Egyptian walk through life to death and reincarnation. This first show will feature 12 choreographed dancers depicting “the 12 stages of reincarnation,” with Mills providing a live score.

June 9 will see the composer create an “electronic cine-mix” set to a screening of Richard Fleischer’s 1966 sci-fi epic Fantastic Voyage, while the following evening Mills will re-work music from his back catalogue for symphony orchestra. The June 12 event was inspired by The Planets by Gustav Holst.

Tickets for all four shows go on general sale tomorrow from the Barbican website.

Mills was honoured with the Spirit of Detroit award last month, alongside fellow techno pioneers the Belleville Three.
