Well, this is one way to follow constant accusations of copycat behaviour.

Desiigner was filmed performing Future’s new DJ Khaled and Jay Z collaboration ‘I Got The Keys’ at a show in Atlantic City on Saturday night (July 2). Having been dogged by comparisons to Future since rising to fame with ‘Panda’ earlier this year, later promising a mixtape called Purple Reign and single called ‘Pluto’ (both blatant nods to previous Future releases), it’s a move likely to further stir accusations that he’s ripping off the Atlanta rapper’s sound and aesthetic.

The Brooklyn rapper, who recently dropped debut mixtape New English, sounded so similar to Future in his breakout performance on Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo that many mistook him for the What A Time To Be Alive star. Desiigner has so far shrugged off the comparisons: “I actually laugh at it, there’s nothing to get upset about,” he said. “I compliment the man about his creativity. I think he’s a great artist and I do what I do; I just say we’re both blessed in our ways. May god just keep it positive and keep me positive, keep me straight.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone last week, Future declined to discuss Desiigner, insisting “I don’t even want his name in the article.” Watch a clip of Desiigner’s performance below.
