The gangster flick features a grime-heavy soundtrack.

UK rap figureheads Krept & Konan and MC Fekky have landed roles in The Intent, a new crime thriller set in London.

Rapper Scorcher, who previously appeared in Channel 4’s acclaimed Top Boy series (AKA Drake’s favourite show), takes the leading role as Gunz alongside co-directors Femi Oyeniran (Kidulthood) and Nicky Slimting Walker (It’s a Lot), Shone Romulus (Top Boy) and musicians Krept & Konan, Fekky and DVS.

Described as a “chilling tale of gang warfare, greed and drugs”, The Intent will be released in selected UK cinemas on July 29 and available to download from iTunes on the same date.

The soundtrack features grime legends Ruff Sqwad and scene figurehead Stormzy plus Ghetts, Scorcher, Tanika, Fekky, Mostacks, Cadet, Swiss, Paigey Cakey and Ms Banks. All of those artists feature on an 18-track album to be released alongside the film.
