Bassist Tony Di Blasi is dealing with a medical condition that prevents him from touring.

The Avalanches have postponed a string of upcoming European festival shows due to health concerns.

The band, writing on Facebook yesterday (July 17), explain that “due to a medical condition requiring treatment in Australia,” bassist Tony Di Blasi has been “advised against international travel for the next few months.”

They were scheduled play at festivals in Sweden, the Netherlands and France, but are yet to confirm exactly which dates will be cancelled.

At the beginning of the month, the Australian duo dropped their long-awaited second album Wildflower. The follow-up to 2000’s debut Since I Left You, the new LP features guest spots from MF Doom, Danny Brown, Toro Y Moi, Father John Misty, Warren Ellis and more.
