The man allegedly wanted to touch the pop star but became “overzealous”.

A man was arrested for disorderly conduct after slapping Justin Timberlake’s face at the American Century Celebrity Pro-Am in Lake Tahoe this weekend, TMZ reports.

The incident occurred when Timberlake, who was competing in the tournament, walked through a crowd. After the man’s hand hit Timberlake’s face, the pop star turned and said “Bro, why would you do that?”

According to the report, the man said he only wanted to “touch” Timberlake, but was “overzealous”. Timberlake reportedly will not press charges. The fan, meanwhile, was arrested after police attempted to escort him off the premises and he refused.

Former MLB pitcher Mark Mulder won the tournament. Timberlake finished 21st.
