The Spiritland project also includes a radio studio.

A new venue focused on high-end audio will open in north London this September. Spiritland, formerly part of the Merchants Tavern in Shoreditch, has found a permanent home in King’s Cross for a cafe, bar and record shop offering a custom-designed sound system.

Promising a broad music policy of “anything from Parliament-Funkadelic to Judee Sill to Talk Talk to Donald Fagen,” as the owners told RA, Spiritland will show off its high-end system every weekday from 6pm by playing an album from start to finish.

Alongside the bar and a shop selling audio equipment and music on vinyl and CD, the building will host a radio studio called Spiritland Sound Studio. DJ sets, artist talks, pub quizzes and other events are planned for the bar, and the whole project is set to open its doors in mid-September at 9-10 Stable Street, N1C.

Keep an eye on the venue’s listings by signing up on the Spiritland website.
