The rapper has free reign over the upcoming awards ceremony.

The MTV Video Music Awards take place this Sunday and will give Kanye West four minutes of stage time to do “as he pleases,” a source tells TMZ.

“He can rap, sing, dance or even just stay silent … and we’re told show producers are totally clueless which door he’ll pick,” explains the source who is close to the production, but remained anonymous.

Last year, West was awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award whereupon he delivered an 11-minute speech that ended by announcing his intent to run for president in 2020. His most memorable appearance was in 2009 when he crashed Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, an event controversially referenced on this year’s ‘Famous’ and the catalyst for their ongoing feud.

The VMAs air August 28 at 9PM EST on MTV.
