The pair’s last studio album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, was released in 2003.

New OutKast music is now rumoured to be on the way after Gucci Mane posted a video to Snapchat revealing that he has collaborated with the ATL duo.

The pair were namechecked as Gucci reeled off his latest string of collaborations in a video earlier this morning (September 6), declaring “I just did a record for OutKast,” while also mentioning E-40 among the names.

It’s not clear yet what kind of feature the collaboration will take on. Although OutKast haven’t released any new music in over a decade, both artists have remained active via different projects, with André 3000 most notably teaming up with Kanye for The Life of Pablo track ’30 Hours’ earlier this year. Last month, Big Boi – who is currently working on his next solo record – announced that he is working on a collaborative EP with Run The Jewels’ Killer Mike.

OutKast’s last studio album proper, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, came out in 2003, however they did also release a soundtrack LP in 2006, Idlewild, to accompany their music industry-related film of the same name. The pair marked 20 years of being the game back in 2014 with a reunion tour so they’re not adverse to the idea of reuniting, although André did later come forward declaring that he “felt like a sell-out.”

Update: The song Gucci Mane was talking about is not for OutKast.

Jeff Rosenthal, one half of It’s The Real (who have a show on MTV coming later this year), has confirmed that this is not true.
