The unreleased ‘City Lights’ marks the director’s fifth collaboration with the band.

Jack White’s new compilation Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016 contains a new White Stripes song which now has a video with their longtime video collaborator Michel Gondry.

‘City Lights’ was originally recorded in 2005 during the Get Behind Me Satan sessions, but was lost until now. Unlike the Lego stop-motion of ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’ or the bombastic surrealism of ‘Denial Twist,’ Gondry’s approach here is as gentle as its music. The video captures a single take of someone in the shower, painting with their finger on the fogged-up glass and was sent to the White as a “surprise gift” by Gondry.

Watch it above and look for Acoustic Recordings now via Third Man Records.
