#staywokeandvote.

Chance The Rapper’s Magnificent Coloring World tour kicks off in San Diego tonight (September 15). Ahead of that first performance, the Chicago artist has announced that he will be teaming up with civil rights group the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) to offer gig-goers voter registration forms at all shows leading up the presidential election on November 8.

Chance accompanied his Twitter announcement with the hashtag #staywokeandvote – the NAACP’s official hashtag to try and encourage black people to vote in the upcoming election.

In addition to encouraging voter registration at each show, NAACP members will be on hand to provide civic engagement resources and membership information.

NAACP president Cornell William Brooks says Chance is an “an artist whose music praises and lifts up our common humanity, and whose call for action speaks to the yearning of this moment. This year, more than it has in a generation, we must use the power of our voices and our votes and exercise our sacred right to vote.”
