New movie to give voice to Dre’s ex-fiancée Michel’le Touissant.

Lifetime, a network known for its made-for-TV dramas and biopics, will air Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le next month. The movie will aim to show the abuse Ruthless Records R&B singer Michel’le suffered at the hands of Dr. Dre that was omitted from Straight Outta Compton.

As was well-documented last year during the film’s success, Michel’le’s story (as well as journalist Dee Barnes, who wrote a gripping essay about rap and abuse for Gawker) was pointedly missing because its lighthearted tone. Amid the controversy, fellow N.W.A. member Ice Cube said: “Make your own N.W.A. movie.” Looks like Michel’le did.

Surviving Compton will tell the story of Michel’le’s relationship with Dr. Dre and the affair she had with Suge Knight, which acted as a temporary balm from Dre. It airs October 15. Watch the trailer below. [via People]
