Daft Punk only appear in a poster on the wall.

Last week The Weeknd announced Starboy, his third studio album, and released the Daft Punk-assisted title track. (FACT Singles Club is still having a hard time reconciling with The Weeknd’s pop career.)

The video was directed by Grant Singer, who previously worked with The Weeknd on the clip for Beauty Behind the Madness standout ‘Tell Your Friends’. ‘Starboy’ plays to a similar darkness – only here, The Weeknd we’ve known is held hostage by himself, now with the shorter haircut displayed in the Starboy artwork.

What does this mean for The Weeknd’s music? We’ll have to find out when the album is released on November 25. Watch the video for ‘Starboy’ here.
