Out of this world.

California-based rap newcomer Nafets grew up in the crawl space between two different worlds. The son of Trinidadian parents, he went to a mostly white school in Washington, not really feeling like he belonged to either culture, he explains about new single ‘Asteroid’. “I felt like I was always torn,” says the 20-year-old. “It would often make me feel very excluded and alone.”

That sensation of feeling like an alien, as if he literally came to Earth on an asteroid, is explored in sharp, poignant bursts of rhyme over lush keys and an urgent beat on the track. Detailing surreal dreams about “digging graves for me and all of my friends cos I’m trapped in the future,” it’s a sublime, somewhat sad anthem, and a must-hear for fans of Earl Sweatshirt, Mac Miller and the likes.
